3-02 - Mother church in Forza d'Agrò

motherchurchinforzadagr.jpg

In the film this is the church of Corleone. The motive of this façade and square returns in all tree parts of the film. Stayng in the front of this church and telling again and again stories of Sicily to the tourists, I think I cought a hint of why Coppola chose this part of Sicily for his film. It is said that he chose it because of beeng the real Corleone too modernised for the time of filming. I am not sure, there are so many beautiful, caracteristic places in Sicily.
