The ancient temple of Athena from the early 5th century BC was transformed into a christian church in the 6th century AD. It's a long story of completion and modifications we can remember once there. But still we can see the columns with doric capitals included into the external wall of the church and the wall of cella perforated as to assure the communication between the nave and lateral aisles.
